Isolation Transformers

An Isolation Transformer has a Turns ratio of 1:1 and provides a complete galvanic isolation between the Mains and the Load side. The basic function of an Isolation Transformer is to protect the load from noise and spikes that appear in the mains utility supply. The other important function of the Isolation Transformer is to minimise the earth to neutral potential that would arise due to poor neutral conductor size and large neutral currents
